THE NEW MICHIGAN LAW REGARDING USE OF ANESTHETICS
FOR PMU IS NOW IN EFFECT!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL NEW AND EXISTING CLIENTS!!
Effective September 11, 2025: The State of Michigan has changed the law regarding the use of topical anesthetics in all tattoo procedures. A valid prescription from a physician is required in order to use numbing agents while doing any tattoo procedure, including permanent cosmetics and paramedical tattooing. This is the law, and there are no exceptions.
Here is what you need to do BEFORE coming your next appointment:
Contact your doctor and request a prescription for a topical Lidocaine numbing cream. Explain to them that it is a new law required by the state of Michigan for all tattoo services. It can be whatever brand of Lidocaine cream or ointment they recommend, however it MUST be a prescription (not an over the counter product) and the written prescription should state that it is "to be applied to the skin as needed for a tattoo procedure". Have the prescription filled at your pharmacy, then bring your written prescription and the anesthetic with you to your appointment.
If you do not currently have a regular physician, or if he/she will not prescribe the anesthetic for you, you may want to try a Telehealth option. A quick Google search will display many options for this, however I am currently working a more convenient solution for my clients. This information will be updated as this resource becomes available.
DO NOT APPLY YOUR OWN ANESTHETIC TO YOUR SKIN PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT!
If If you do this, I am required by law to turn you away! Allowing the anesthetic to sit on your skin longer than necessary can toughen and oversaturate the skin tissue causing it to be resistant to the pigment. This will negatively impact both the procedure and your healed results, and could cause health risks for some people. Also, the numbing effect will likely wear off before I even start the procedure. Bring your prescribed anesthetic with you to the appointment, along with the written prescription from your physician, and it will be applied after the surface of the skin is cleansed and sanitized.
Although some cosmetic tattooing can be tolerated without anesthetics, such as Powder Brows, Areola & Scar procedures, it is NOT recommended for Nano or Combo Brows, Lip Blush and Eyeliner procedures. I will not even attempt a lip or eyeliner procedure on you without an anesthetic. Even if you already have body tattoos, and you believe you have a “high pain tolerance” (everyone says that), please understand that these delicate areas of the face are FAR more sensitive than other commonly tattooed areas of the body, and can be very painful without an anesthetic.
The fact is, without an anesthetic, it hurts. With an anesthetic, it hurts a whole lot less. Remember, I am tattooing your face, with “forever” results. If you are in pain, I will feel rushed. If you are calm and comfortable, I will also feel calm and comfortable, which makes for a much more pleasant experience for both of us, and the best possible healed results for you! So please don’t try to be a tough guy. Just get the anesthetic.
PLEASE NOTE: If you come to your appointment without your valid prescription and prescribed anesthetic, and then decide not to go through with the appointment, or if you pre-apply anesthetic to your skin prior to coming and are consequently turned away, you will still be charged for the appointment. If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment time because you forgot to get the prescription and would like to to reschedule to a later date, you will be charged 50% of the service value as per our standard cancellation policy. So please do us both a favor and PLAN AHEAD!
Thank you so much for your time, understanding, and cooperation!
I appreciate you, and look forward to seeing you soon!
